We (the developer(s) of Insights) are serious about privacy. We want to make sure that we are transparent and open about the way we use your data to make your experience better.

This document is our Privacy Policy. It describes what information we collect from you and how we use it. Our Privacy Policy applies to the entire website at karn.io/insights, the mobile application, and all other services Insights provides. It covers account information - which is information we can link to you personally (with consent). This includes data like your username or mobile device’s unique identifier.

As with the nature of technology, Insights reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the law, our data use & collection, the features of our services, or advances in technology. Please check this page periodically for changes.

  1. Why do we need your information?

    We only collect your personal information when we need it to provide you with a tailored experience. When we do collect your information, we store it and associate it with your account unless otherwise noted. We will only use and disclose this information under the terms described in this Privacy Policy. The information is kept for the time necessary to provide the service requested by you, or stated by the purposes outlined in this document. You can at anytime request that your information be deleted from our database.

  2. What we collect (if analyitics is enabled).

    Account information

    To use the service provided by Insights your Instagram Account is synced to the application. We use information retrieved from your Instagram profile to populate and generate the relevant analytics for you to analyze. No data is transmitted to servers other than those belonging to Instagram.

    Device information

    Our servers automatically record certain information about your mobile device to better understand the pain points and aggregate anonymous usage patterns of our users. This information may include information such as an equipment identifier (e.g., IMEI, UDID), subscriber identifier (e.g., IMSI), device name, device type and manufacturer, operating system type and version, network type, country of origin, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, and the dates and times of your requests.

    Third-parties and your data

    We may share some or all of your data mentioned in the above section with some third-party services that help facilitate the functionality of the application. You will be notified as soon as possible when this occurs and for what reason. We may also disclose your information without your knowledge if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process. Additionally, we may also disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. This extends to our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them.

    Cookies

    Like many online services, we use cookies and other tools to collect and analyze information about you and your usage of our services. We also use these technologies to deliver content for relevant Lookout products and services. Cookies are small data files that we transfer to your computer. We use “session” cookies to keep you logged in while you use our services, to better understand how you interact with our services, and to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic information on our services. Session cookies disappear when you log out.

  3. Age.

    We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at [email protected]. We will delete such information from our database within a reasonable time.

  4. Your consent.

    To reiterate, by using our services, you are consenting to our processing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. This means using our site, mobile applications, and services or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which will take place in Canada. If you reside outside Canada your information will be transferred, processed and stored there under Canadian privacy standards.
